The US Virgin Islands are nicknamed "America's Paradise"
and with good reason: these islands are an idyllic playground for American
travelers, offering all the conveniences of a domestic trip with the appeal
of the tropics.
The US Virgin Islands offer three distinct vacations for
families.
- St. Thomas is the most bustling of the Virgins.
This is the destination for any shoppers in your family. The town of
Charlotte Amalie (pronounced a-mal-yah) has a busy cosmopolitan atmosphere
with a Caribbean charm all its own.
- St. John is the eco-tourism capital of the Caribbean,
an island where the family, from the luxury of a beautiful resort or
a posh villa or the inexpensive accommodations of a tent or cabin, can
hike, snorkel, and tour an island where two-thirds of the land is preserved
as a national park.
- St. Croix boasts some of the best of the other
US Virgin Islands: the shopping of St. Thomas and the eco-tourism of
St. John.
