this hotel still exudes an air of comfort and elegance amid a bustling
city. This hotel is known as the “upside-down Hilton” because
the lobby and ground level make up the top floor and the guest rooms are
located downhill. Visitors at this Port of Spain hotel are met
by walkways of smooth teak, grown on the island and used in furniture
and railings throughout the hotel. Rooms are similar to those found in
other traditional business-oriented hotels, but all include a private
balcony overlooking Queen’s Park Savannah. Carnival is held directly
across the street from the hotel, so during that time come prepared to
party—like it or not. Special Family Features Kids under 18 stay free in their parents’ room, and kids under 5 eat free. Kids 5-12 get a free breakfast and half off all other meals when the eat with and adult. Families staying three nights or longer get one night of babysitting for free for up to four hours.
