Family Activities in St. Martin, Sint Maarten Beaches Theres no denying that St. Martins beautiful
beaches, nearly 40 in all, are one of this islands top assets. Whether
youre looking for pulsating action or blissful privacy, youll
find it somewhere on the island. (Note to parents: On the French side,
topless sunbathing is standard and nudity is permitted on the nude beach
at Orient Bay, so prepare your children first if you plan a visit to this
bustling beach.) Zoo Kids enjoy the St. Maarten Zoological and Botanical Garden,
located near Phillipsburg. The zoo emphasizes the flora and fauna of the
Caribbean with an eye toward conservation. Over 60 species are on display
here including mammals, birds, and reptiles. Butterfly Farm Another top stop with families is the St. Martin/St. Maarten
Butterfly Farm, located on the French side of the island near Orient Bay.
Youll walk among free-flying butterflies in this fascinating display.
If you've done some island hopping in the region, you'll recognize this
