Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Country Club

Perched atop a 300-foot cliff, this is one of the grandest resorts in the region. With 918 guest rooms, it’s not the place for those looking for privacy and to get away from the crowds, but you’ll find just about everything else at this $250 million resort.

Choose from an 18-hole championship golf course, a private marina with rental boats and charters for deep-sea fishing, scuba facilities, six swimming pools, seven tennis courts, a nightclub, casino, fitness center, salon, and luxurious shops. Not to mention a 100-acre private island, Palomina, where guests can be whisked on complimentary ferries. On secluded Palomina, families can enjoy snorkeling, nature trails, and siestas in hammocks stretched between tall palms.

Supervised Kids' Program

The kids’ program, Camp Coqui, is designed for kids age three to nine and nine to 13. This program is one of the most unique in the Caribbean. The kids’ program is located on Palomino Island, just offshore and accessible by water taxi.

With its own nurse located on the island and always in touch with the mainland by radio, the kids’ program includes activities such as watersports, nature hikes, and island crafts.

Special overnight programs are also available and give kids the chance to feel like Robinson Crusoe. The fee for the full-day program includes lunch, a travel journal, a duffel bag, and a T-shirt; a half-day program runs from 9-1, and does not include lunch.
