Club Med Punta Cana

Parents who have traveled with teens know that the kids’ club just doesn’t work anymore once kids reach the teen years. It’s just too much like babysitting to please independent young teens who want to explore a resort in a far less structured way.

The answer? The Ramp. This is a new teen lounge opened in March 2005 at this all-inclusive property. The two-story teen lounge allows no visitors not in the 14-17 age bracket. While at the open-air lounge, young guests can skateboard, rollerblade, play foosball, and meet other teens.

The introduction to the club begins at check-in, when teens get a packet which includes a combination for a personal mailbox at The Ramp. The mailbox provides daily updates and also a way for teens to communicate with one another. The welcome packet also includes a cloth bracelet that provides admission to The Ramp and tokens for The Ramp’s photo booth.

Other activities for teens range from movie nights to themed dance parties for teens only. Before they check out, participants are invited to “Leave a Mark” at The Ramp with a note or graffiti tag.

For younger members of the family, Club Med offers a kids’ club for ages 2-13 with activities ranging from circus fun to arts and crafts.
