Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino This 248-room resort (formerly the Sonesta) is Curaçao’s
only AAA four-diamond resort, an elegant resort filled with a Dutch Caribbean
style. Cool lemon walls contrast with chile pepper-colored roofs, all
framed by stately palms. The property is a veritable oasis on this dry
island, just down the beach from the desalinization plant (the world’s
largest), where unsightly smokestacks distract slightly from the view
but don’t interfere with the enjoyment of this beautiful property We especially liked the low-rise, open-air quality of this
resort, starting with the lobby, where you’ll arrive to a view over
a cascading fountain across the palm-shaded pool and out to the sea. Every
room includes either a balcony or patio (ask for a ground floor room for
direct beach access) and at least a partial view of the ocean. The hotel has many family-friendly features including a year-around children’s program, babysitting services, roll-away beds, and cribs. Back to Curacao with Kids |
