Tethered Scuba

For those curious about the undersea world but not ready to take the plunge for a full certification course, several outfits in the islands offer a tethered scuba experience to depths of 20 feet. In Grand Cayman and St. John, tethered scuba operators give you the option of shallow scuba diving.

You’ll start with a simple class on use of the gear then wade out for a shallow water dive. At all times, you are connected to the air tank floating on the surface by a 20-foot tube. With this tube, you’ll breathe just like any other scuba diver.
