Submarines For real underwater fun, several islands are home to submarines
that give you the chance to see beneath the waves without ever getting
wet. Atlantis submarines, found on Grand Cayman, Sint
Maarten, Barbados, and Aruba, plunge to a depth of 100 feet below the
surface. On other islands, semi-submersible subs are another option. On these vessels, the boat never submerges but visitors walk down into a glass hull for a look at the undersea world. These are a good choice for the budget conscious and for those whose children might not do well in the enclosed environment of a true sub. If you need to leave the confines of the "sub," all you have to do is walk back up the stairs to stand on the deck.
