Malaria & the Caribbean We've had readers ask us about malaria in the Caribbean; fortunately this is a problem on in a very limited region. Haiti presently has the highest danger of malaria; the portions of the Dominican Republic bordering Haiti share the risk. In 2004, the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic reported some cases of malaria. To stay up to date with malaria risk, check the CDC website section specifically covering the Caribbean. |
