Handicapped Access in the Caribbean

If a member of your family uses a wheelchair, you’ll find the same ADA rules in effect in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands as you’d find on the mainland of the US.

You’ll find ramps (also great for strollers), handicapped accessible guest rooms and restrooms, etc.

On other islands, handicapped access varies, although many resorts offer special handicapped accessible rooms. The Aruba Tourist Board website offers an excellent rundown of its island hotels and many activities and attractions with their accessibility for travelers
