Sam Lord's Castle, Barbados

This resort is more than a hotel, it’s a regular tourist attraction. Built in the 19th century, this castle was the property of the pirate Sam Hall Lord who, according to legend, lured passing ships onto the east coast rocks. Of course, no real castle would be complete without its resident ghost, and at Sam Lord’s they say his truly still rests on his four-poster bed.

The hotel has a supervised kids’ club for ages 5-12 which runs daily from 10 am to 4 pm. Babysitting is also available upon request.
