Westin and Sheraton at Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort, Grand Bahama Island This massive resort is
actually two properties in one: the Westin and the Sheraton. The Westin
is located on the far end of the property and is a quiet getaway thats
favored by couples and adult travelers without kids. The Sheraton is the largest
block of the property, a high-rise with plenty of activities for all ages.
Our Lucaya is a good choice for parents and kids. Guest rooms are decorated
with a Caribbean flair, and there are four outdoor pools to choose from.
Parents can relax at the resorts Senses Spa and fitness center,
while kids enjoy Camp Lucaya. Camp Lucaya is an educational facility for kids 2.5 to 12 years, but that doesnt mean that kids wont have fun! Kids can participate in arts and crafts using native Bahamian materials, hear local fairy tales and myths, attend theme parties, go on excursions with the explorers club, participate in beach olympics, and take part in other exciting activities. Camp Lucaya is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day, and until 10 pm on Thursday through Saturday during peak periods. For the youngest travelers, theres also a nursery available between 9 am and 5 pm (closed for lunch.) Here is a typical weekly
schedule of activities at Camp Lucaya: Monday Land-ho! Tuesday Under the Sea Wednesday Up, up and away Thursday Music Makes the
World Go round Friday Living Happily
Ever After Saturday Living Creatures Sunday Under the Sea For the kids under 2 and half, Our Lucaya offers a nursery staffed with well-trained baby sitters. The nursery is open from 9 am to 5 pm, but closed from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. There is a maximum stay of two hours. Back to Bahamas with Kids |
