Grand Bahama: Dolphin Experience

Those families looking for a unique experience on Grand Bahama can leave from Port Lucaya to join the Dolphin Experience. With this program, there are four ways to get to know the dolphins.

The Close Encounter is a two-hour excursion where guests stand in water and touch the dolphins (great for the kids!).

The second way is the Swim With The Dolphins level, where guests can swim in protected waters with the mammals. We did this option (which isn't available to young children) and can highly recommend it.

The Assistant Trainer Program is an all-day program with a minimum age of 16, and provides a behind the scenes look at the Dolphin Experience.

The Open Ocean Programs allows dolphins to follow their trainers, who are in a boat, out to sea where they can choose whether or not to come back to the facility. The Dolphin Dive takes the dolphins and guests one mile off shore and let them learn about each other in 40-50 feet of water.
